Medical/Dental/Life Insurance
Health and welfare benefits are provided through the Employee Painters’ Trust Health & Welfare plan. Coverage includes health, dental, and vision insurance benefits; accidental death and dismemberment; disability; and life insurance. Currently FDT pays full premium costs for an employee and his/her family.

Continuation of Benefits - COBRA
You, or your family, may be eligible for continuation of benefits under certain qualifying events under the 1986 Federal Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA).

Alternate Care Providers
Under the Employee Painters’ Trust Health & Welfare Plan alternate care is provided on a limited basis. This includes chiropractic, massage, acupuncture, and naturopathic care. Benefits are paid at 80% up to $24 visits per year.

Short Term Disability
Under the Employee Painters’ Trust Health & Welfare Plan, eligible employees can collect up to $150 per week for up to 26 weeks.

Employee Assistance Plan
EAP offers counseling, referral, and educational services for those with substance-abuse issues and/or personal life issues that may be interfering with an employee’s ability to perform his/her job. Counseling support is funded under the Employee Painters’ Trust Health & Welfare plan and pays mental health counseling (outpatient) at 80% for 20 visits per calendar year. Substance abuse (in/out patient) is covered up to $13,000 per year every 24 months.

Continued Education
FDT believes in continuous learning and may arrange both informal and formal training programs for employees throughout the year. This may include in-house training classes and on-the-job training as well as outside seminars, courses, or self-paced instruction.
Sick Time/Personal Time
F.D. Thomas provides personal/sick time up to 48 hours annually for non-manual employees.

401(k) Retirement Plan
Regular full-time employees are eligible to enroll after 1 year of employment in the 401(k) Retirement Plan. Contributions, vesting schedule, eligibility, and exclusions are in accordance with the Summary Plan Document (SPD).
